Route 109 Bridge

The Route 109 Bridge is a Historic Stone Arch Bridge that travels over the Charles River in Dedham, Ma. Boston Building & Bridge served as the General Contractor to reconstruct the existing bridge while preserving the historic stone arches. This project also serves as an excellent example of our expertise in concrete, and marine construction. During this project, cofferdams were constructed in the river to enable new concrete footings and arches to be installed. The new arches spanned directly over the existing stone arches to provide the structural integrity for the bridge. Once the new arches were complete, the existing stone arches were restored and preserved while in place.
