Facility Expansion Logan Int Airport
The Facilities 2 Expansion project at Logan International Airport included the partial demolition of the former Sand Storage Building to facilitate the reconstruction and expansion of the airports primary Vehicle Maintenance Building. The building received a new roof, new HVAC, Electrical, Lighting, Fire Alarm and Sprinkler systems. Overhead doors were replaced as well as selective windows. The facility also received newly constructed bathrooms, locker rooms, bunk rooms, break room, kitchen and administrative offices. The vehicle maintenance spaces received new automotive repair and maintenance equipment. As part of the project temporary office trailers were brought in and set up for the facilities staff during the construction duration.
All work performed on this project was in the Security Identification Display Area known as SIDA. All personnel, vehicles, equipment and materials required to perform the work were escorted by a designated BBB individual from the security check point to the airside job site. All workers required security clearance to be employed on this project.
